Wildcats Crowned Champions

The Savannah Wildcats are the first Continental Basketball League Champions of 2010!!!
The Savannah Wildcats faced off against the Wilmington Sea Dawgs in the CBL Championship Game earlier this afternoon. The game lasted into overtime with a final score of 96 - 86. The end of regulation resulted in a score of 83 – 83.Sea Dawgs Defeat Sabers

It wasn't the 30-point blowout like the last time these two teams played, but again the Sabers were no match for the Sea Dawgs, as they win 109-98.
Leading the Sea Dawgs was guard Aaron Scott with 22 and 5 rebounds. Center Aaron Coombs also chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds.
This victory moves the Sea Dawgs to 7-2 for the season, and keeps them in first place in the CBL.
Catch the Sabers this Sunday night at 7:00pm against the Carolina Cougarz.
Sabers Use a Balanced Attack Defeating the Wildcats

The Birmingham Sabers turned the tables on the Savannah Wildcats having lost to them just weeks earlier in the season by 16 points. The Sabers smashed the Wildcats by 23 points, 127 to 104. The young team under new management and coaching gave a true team effort with every player on the team scoring in the game. The high scorers included Mondrae McCray with 27 points including 5 spectacular dunks driving the crowd wild. Joshua Randall had 17 points along with Gabriel Feagin with 16. The Sabers scored 74 points in the first half alone.

Birmingham Steel switches Owners
The Continental Basketball League has announced that Paul Smith has taken over as owner of the Birmingham franchise. Commissioner Dennis Truax made the announcement on Wednesday.
